Black Dog Pizzeria is about more than making really good pizza. It’s also about petting all your dogs!
But we’re also proud to use our little pizzeria to support dog rescues, local schools, educational artistic endeavors, theater clubs, environmental organizations, food pantries, and the community that supports us!

When we opened Black Dog, we knew we wanted to build more than just a neighborhood pizza shop.
Dogs have always been a huge part of our lives and so finding ways to surround ourselves with those lil guys that make us feel good, getting to meet and pet as many dogs as we can, and finding the best way to help support rescue organizations and events for unhoused dogs felt like a natural part of what we wanted Black Dog to be!
Over the years, our customers have helped us turn pizza orders into donations, fundraisers, awareness and support for organizations doing important work in our community, and we think that’s pretty doggone cool!
We’re a small local restaurant, we can’t fix everything. But we believe small businesses have both a responsibility and a opportunity to make a real difference within the communities that support them.

Black Dog RESCUE Boxes were created as a way to use something we make every day—pizza, yum!—to help local dogs find the families they need and deserve.
We partner with Columbus area rescues to feature adoptable dogs right on our pizza boxes, putting their faces and stories into the hands and eyes of people throughout our community. For unhoused dogs, sometimes finding a forever home starts with just simply being seen!
Even if the person who is opening the box isn’t ready to adopt, they might know someone who is—or they might share that dog’s story with someone who can help. Even just the viral social media marketing of RESCUE Boxes helps spread the name of local rescues and resources around!

Every four-legged fuzzy friend is a VIP at our shop!
All visiting dogs are ALWAYS welcome at our restaurant and can receive a free Pupperoni or Meatball snack-sized appetizer upon request. We also keep a jar of organic pumpkin dog biscuits at the counter for those pups who would prefer to partake in plants!
Sterilized, clean stainless steel cold water bowls are available upon request also, whether you’re a customer stopping by with your furry pal or just someone walking their dog in the area.
