Okay, Black Dog is a little sillier than your average pizza shop, but that’s because we have a lot of fun doing what we’re passionate about.   And we take that passion—pizza!—very seriously!

From dogs and local art to pizza awards and whatever else we can manage to hang on the walls, there’s a lot packed into our little pizzeria.    

Come take a look around!

Enjoy eating your pizza outside in the fresh air?  That’s great, as long as the weather agrees!  We offer TWO four-top tables with cushioned seats so you can eat outside while taking in the beautiful scenery of Karric Square strip mall’s parking lot.  

As for indoor seating? We’ve got a little bit of that, too—but Black Dog is cozy, so most Pizza Friends grab their pizza to-go.  It’s no Ruth’s Chris Steak House but if you like your pizza straight out of the oven, it’s got you covered.  You might even make some new DoorDasher friends, who knows!

To make creative things you gotta be surrounded by creative things!

Our walls aren’t just decoration, they’re intentional spaces we use to create beauty and oddity we can surround ourselves with daily.  Our space is our muse to create our greatest pizza works of art!

Black Dog’s Gallery Wall gives local artists a place to share their work with the people who wander through our little pizza shop. The art changes, the artists change, and there’s usually something new to discover.

Almost all of our 50+ paintings, sculptures, mixed media pieces and murals were created by Columbus local artists specifically and uniquely for our pizzeria.  Each piece is labeled and tagged with the artist and their socials, so if you see a style you like please reach out to them and give them their flowers!

When Black Dog first opened, we knew we wanted the walls filled with art—but after building a pizza shop, there wasn’t exactly a huge art budget left over, you know?  So we started making it ourselves.

Then friends added pieces, customers joined in, local artists started contributing. And somewhere along the way, our bare wall turned into one of our favorite parts of Black Dog.

Today, the Gallery Wall is an ever-changing collection of pizza, dog, and wonderfully weird artwork from artists near and far.  Pizza Today thought it was pretty cool, too—they included it in an article about pizzeria art!

Even our coloring pages are Black Dog originals.

We hand-draw our own dog-themed coloring pages for our littlest Pizza Friends (and any grown-ups who want one too!). Each page features a real dog belonging to one of our owners or employees, paired with one of our specialty pizzas.

They’re a little piece of the people, pups, pizza, and art that make Black Dog what it is.

Grab some crayons, color a dog, eat some pizza. That’s a pretty good day.

Our community board is a little snapshot of the people, pups, organizations and happenings that make our neighborhood awesome-pawsome!  You’ll find local events, rescue information, community resources, customer dogs, our Pay It Forward program and plenty of other odds and ends that find their way onto the board.

Somewhere between making pizza and petting dogs, Black Dog started collecting a few trophies and plaques. You’ll find awards from local pizza competitions, community-voted favorites, and even a national win for our garlic knots tucked around the shop.  We’re proud of every one of them!
